SIMMONS, Frederick Robert
— 76, of Bear River, Annapolis Co., passed away June 9, 2009, at home. Born in Portage LaPrairie, Man., he was a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Lambert) Simmons. Frederick was an avid hunter, fisherman and a reader who loved to learn. He was very mechanically inclined and loved to be "Mr. Fix It" for the family and would do anything for his family. He was a jet engine mechanic in the service and later was an electrician at Cornwallis for many years. He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Creaser); sons, Freddy (Linda), Halifax; Kerry (Wanda), Bear River; Thomas (Diane) of Cold Lake, Alta. and Derek of Cold Lake, Alta; daughter, Debbie (Glen) Wright of Clementsvale; grandchildren, Erin Leigh Simmons, Genia and Chad Simmons; brother, Jimmy of Manitoba and sister, Blanch of Calgary. He was predeceased by brother, Ted. Visitation will be held Friday 2-4 p.m. from Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Cremation to follow with a private memorial service at a later date.
